Attached CDIn:sight with art therapy aspires to share the art therapy journey of a blind since birth 11-year- old girl of normal development, in Hong Kong. With respect to her disability, biological age, cultural and environmental context, the aim of this study is to demonstrate art therapy’s effectiveness in face of the art making limitations that visual impairment could imply. The psychoanalytic and phenomenological approach followed throughout this qualitative study intends to substantiate evidence that art therapy for this 11-year-old congenitally blind girl, has been: 1) a significant aid to her emotional coping capacity, 2) an imperative process for building a healthier self-esteem and 3) a insightful intersubjective space to allow coping with traumatic experiences and feelings. In:sight implies the glimpse to inner self and gain of emotional insight. This is the only glimpsethe congenitally blind girl could get. Art therapy helped her discover how!
