This research seeks to explore and expound the rarely charted territories of the brown skinned Indian woman in Singapore who is often invisible. It is an investigation of how artmaking can be layered with the questioning of issues surrounding marginalisation that is sometimes overt but at most times insidious and damaging. It is an attempt to rewrite existing narratives. This research may be considered as activism, but it is more accurately an investigation of how resistance can develop a language that can be sustainable in a country that is averse to most forms of opposition. (for fear of toppling the well curated harmony.) A resistance that is not aggressive or direct but creative and subversive.
